Great to have Godin mentioned here! I was looking at the Summit last month as a store a couple hours away had one for sale. I didn't get a chance to play it though. Nice to hear about your LG.

I'm a Tele guy. I can appreciate the extra oomph a Les Paul offers, though. If I had silly money I'd probably put some into a Les Paul with a Fender-length scale. Humbuckers on a Fender doesn't quite do it.

I can't answer this question with one choice for a guitar. I have alot of guitars with multiples of my favorite types, but...
To just pick up and play this is my current favorite guitar... For recording most rock music I like this Les Paul This Teles for when the Les Paul is too thick and this Gretsch for hollowbody stuff... |

Depending on the day and the mood, either one of these.

I started out playing electric when I was 13, 32 years ago. I've played a bunch of electrics and own a bunch. My main 2 guitars for 20 years were my Tele and my PRS Custom 22. Played hundreds of shows with them and recorded. Then I started playing a custom Strat for several years. Now, I play two different Ernie Ball Music Man's. I have an Axis Sport with P90's and an Axis SuperSport with 2 DiMarzio humbuckers. Both guitars feel and play exactly the same but totally different sounds. They are now the only electrics I play. All other necks feel inferior to the MM neck. I'll grab one of the others and pick around for a few min but then go straight back to my MM. I keep one bedside and the other one is rigside in the basement.
I play mainly through two amps. A 5E3 that I made from a kit and a Yamaha THR100. I love the 5E3 but it does not love humbuckers. It loves straight up Strat single coils and the Tele singles and really likes the P90/MM90's.

Seems to be a characteristic of old-school single-ended Class-A amps; my Bugera V5 Infinium coffeehouse/jam amp sounds sweet and rich with my Gretsch electrics, sings like Pavarotti's parakeet with my P-90 LP - the Epi Ultra 339, not so good...

I used to think my Gibson ES 195 would be my lifer electric. That was until I bought my Gretsch Black Falcon PE. I'm still getting to know her but she keeps surprising me day by day. Blessed.
