Default New Fishman Matrix Infinity

It looks like Fishman have just updated their pickup range.

I was looking at the Ellipse Matrix Blend but now they have one called the Matrix Infinity.

It looks quite complicated to fit, has anyone fitted and tried one yet?

I’m looking to install a pickup system in a recently purchased Guild D-140 Westerly Dreadnought.

I like the goose neck on the blend. It allows you to identify the best place for the mic to your ear.

I also installed it myself. The only thing i did was use multiple drill bits expanding the hole incrementally until the jack fit.

The new one doesn’t have a goose neck. There are 3 separate pieces to install around the sound hole, the volume/tone at the top, the blend wheel at the bottom, and the mic is now on a mount with a swivel. The amp circuit is now directly attached to the jack socket.

... and, yet, another fingerstyle, pickup demo video designed to maximize the good tonal output of the system--all systems sound decent to excellent when played fingerstyle. Fishman, I have no doubt it's a good-sounding system but how about also demoing the system with a flatpick?

You're Welcome! It's nice to know there are other players that understand what I'm getting at when I emphasize that a flatpick is what really brings out the pluses and minuses in any system. I usually assume most demoed systems will be used by both fingerstyle and flatpickers and those that do both styles.

Yeah almost any pickup sounds good fingerstyle. It’s when you drive it with a heavy pick you hear what’s it really like (if you actually play with a pick of course).

That's exactly my experience. For me, strumming chords with some ghost notes is the best way to test how natural a pickup is.
