"Ard Ri" is Gaelic for High King, the top of the line for Avalon Custom Lutherie, the premier Irish guitar builder based in Newtownards, Northern Ireland. This auditorium sized, hand crafted guitar ( model #A3-330 ) features all solid woods, including a high grade Yellow Cedar top (Cupressus Nootkatensis) and English Walnut back and sides. Beautifully bound with Australian Blackwood, with an African Ebony bridge, fingerboard, heel cap and end piece.

This guitar produces a well balanced, crisp yet lush tone when played finger style and lightly picked. It responds really well when you dig in - clear and articulate, with great sustain. It holds up well due to the characteristics of this top wood, with it's elements of Cypress. It's a stronger wood and is less likely to crack due to changes in temperature and humidity.
