Default Gretsch G9220 Bobtail Roundneck Resonator... and other reso questions

I've got the itch for one of these (pm if u have a used one you wanna let go). I know it's the same as the Boxcar with the sunburst and Spider - FishmanŽ Nashville pickup.

My question is... will the FishmanŽ Nashville pickup (passive I think) work with my K&K Pure XLR Preamp? I have K&K pups on other guitars so it would be great to be able to use the same preamp.

Also, I've been listening to Mike Dowling, Bob Brozman and Kelly Jo Phelps. The "reso bug" just bit some I'm hungry for more. Who else should I listen to that plays fingerstyle (as opposed to slide/the classic Robert Johnson/Elmore James style... love it but just not where I'm at right now.)? I'm into jazz, country swing, gypsy swing, blues, hawaiian, folk, world, country, and I guess... anything folk and rootsy.

Two of my favorite National players:

Bo Carter

Just a word of advice: if that's the sound you want, a spider-bridge resonator is not going to get you there.

I've used a Baggs para DI with my Bobtail for a nice clean reso tone. Guessing the K&K preamp would work well too.

What I prefer is plugging into my fender super champ and going from clean to nasty and back. I've been having fun with it

I considered a Gretsch resonator but ordered a Recording King instead. The Gretsch sounded wonderful and I almost went that route. Personally, I wasn't looking to play plugged in so I didn't bother lookong at the ones with electronics.
