I was thinking of other woods as I had some African mahogany and did not think a maple neck would look right with it. And so it hit me. I could back the maple and get it a darker hue. Still want to use other woods though.

Just because other parts of life take over and has stopped my building does not mean it can stop me spending money on wood. Ordered some American Mahogany (Whatever that may mean it is, African?) neck blanks. 2 3/4" wide, 3 1/4" high and 31" long. So some one piece necks in the future. Roughly $40 each all said and done. (taxes, shipping).

American mahogany' usually means bigleaf, AKA Honduras. |

Well, looks like you got 12 necks there and a lot of head and tail block material. I normally make laminated necks but I like a nice one piece neck too.

I thought you needed more depth to get two necks out of the piece. I will have to make up some templates and see. That would be great if I could.
