Default My guitar tech likes the Emerald guitars

I took the Savoy down to John Cotter yesterday. He has Kramsters X20 and really likes the balance of the guitar. He agrees the sound is deadened and muted as I experienced. He liked the X10 but feels it just has too many electronics on board. He liked the X7 as well but it was a little too small for his tastes.

He shared that as he has worked on the X10 and the X7, what strikes him is that the neck angles are excellent, and he loves the fact that they have truss rods.

On a side note, the Savoy has some issues. The neck angle is so bad that he is going to have a very hard time getting this one right. He believes he can do it, but he will have to do a lot of work on it. At least the Savoy has a truss rod. He had a hell of a time on my Cargo and it does not have a truss rod, and he did a beautiful job with it! He has run into similar issues with the Rainsong guitars here and there, so this certainly is not an isolated problem.

I am really glad John is getting to see the Emerald guitars first hand. Neck angles are huge, and it's great that Emerald guitars is getting it right!

Hey Lisa, where did you take the Savoy?

Last time I needed work done I used Buchanan. They did a great job on the Rainsong, but the action on my Martin is still a touch too low.

Gosh, I have posted John's number before, even a few years ago and he has never had a problem. Good folks here!
