Default 3M Dual Lock for pedal boards

Anybody ever used this stuff to attach your pedals?

I sure hope it works as well as this guy says it does. I just ordered some from Amazon and it cost me $25.98 for a roll six feet long and one inch wide. Sorta 'spensive!

I have an acoustic and an electric pedalboard. All of my pedals are mounted with Velcro. With Velcro you can easily move your pedals around. On the bottom of the board I have my pedal power. That is wire tied on as it will never need to be moved.

Thanks, BT, but I'm not sure what your point is.

There is an AGF member, Methos1979, who successfully uses magnets like these:

I use 3M Dual Lock on all my boards. Much more secure than velcro.

I use dual lock on my boards too - MUCH stronger and neater than Velcro. I use it for other little Velcro type tasks as well. $26 for a six foot roll sounds pretty high - there are different strengths of it and I think the weakest of it is more than fine for pedal boards. I can already pick the board up with a pedal - wouldn’t want anything stronger for this particular task. This looks like the stuff I use - about $19 for a 10’ roll:

One roll should do unless you have a huge board. Two rolls is nearly a lifetime supply. I hunk I’m on my second roll and I’ve done one large board, one smaller one, and one tiny one and have it on all of my pedals and I still have a lot left.

I’ve used tape, wire ties, Velcro and the 3M stuff from the local hardware store. Velcro and the 3M stuff are great, but the 3M stuff requires a really clean surface or else the backing won’t stick. I trim it carefully and clean the area where it will be stuck with alcohol before using it now.

Thanks for the tip.

I chose 2" wide industrial strength velcro over 3 M dual lock mainly to keep the pedals a bit closer to the surface of the board
