Default Guitar Recommedation Needed

I write and play songs in several different genres: jazz, folk rock, blues, and fingerstyle. Many of the tunes I strum with my thumb and others I fingerpick.

Some tunes I used to play in G , 30 years ago, I now need to sing in F, so I have a drop tuning of a whole step. This works pretty well on my cutaway OM style acoustic, using a capo extensively for other tunes. However, the higher up the capo goes up the weaker the guitar sounds.

I'm thinking about getting a guitar like a Godin A6 Ultra so I can mix and match the jazz and folk with electric and acoustic sounds. For the drop tuning I might get something like the DigiTech Drop Polyphonic Drop Tune Pitch-Shift Pedal and just leave the guitar in standard tuning.

The un-negotiable thing is that I only want to take 1 guitar to the gig.

Any thoughts on a really versatile guitar that can handle several styles and drop tuning?

My solo gigging guitar is tuned down 1/2 step.
That is usually enough for my vocals.

When I need to go lower I either change the chording, or use my Baritone guitar.

Can't help you with a choice for a guitar though.

Seems like your Bentivoglio should be a good fit.

Maybe the Fender Acoustasonic Jazz? Or the T5z from Taylor?

Yes the Bentivoglio is what I’m using now, tuned down a whole step, but trying to capo it on the 5th and 6th fret doesn’t sound very good.

Thanks everybody
