There are some excellent deals to be had. If I wasn’t already contemplating a custom order, a plain-Jane black Kestrel for $3280 ticks a lot of boxes.

Yes! I saw several Kestrels in that list of sale items. The Pao Ferro (sp?) would be really nice, but I already have my dream archtop. Tempting as always though.

Who knows? That would require a new mould, so it’s not something they’d undertake lightly.

I think it looks rather better in its new left-handed configuration, but I can’t imagine it would make a lot of difference to the player. I find the higher fret access to be quite adequate for my needs, and the old style soundhole is plenty loud enough for me.

I missed that extra day! Oh well, I wasn’t really ready to pull the trigger - doing so would have required some interesting negotiation with the CFO
