Default Gibson ES 335 Just Dropped in My Lap

I've been reducing the number of guitars I own and decided a Bourgeois OM should go. The problem is that selling a $5,000 acoustic guitar that very few people ever heard of, (other than AGC members of course), is problematic.

After a few weeks I got an offer to trade for a 2021 ES 335 Figured Block plus enough cash to get to the $5K amount. I figured I could sell the 335 a lot easier than I could sell the Bourgeois so I did the deal.

It turns out the 335 is a phenomenal guitar. It looks great, perfectly built, sounds incredible, and is easy to play. Right now it's my favorite guitar even though I never knew I wanted it.

Welcome to the 335 fan club!* It’s a classic, what’s not to love?

Would love to see pics!

Great trade!

I only have an Epipnone and I've only had it for a week but I'm totally smitten by it.

Welcome to the 335 club. I’m not surprised by your findings. They’re fantastic, very versatile guitars. Seems like a fair deal for both parties. Win/Win!

We would love to see some pictures…if possible. Enjoy your new addition.

I have enjoyed my Gibson ES-335 since I got it back in 1978. What is that? 44 years ago! I have a fair number of classic electric guitars, and yet it's still my favorite.

Congratulations!

Congrats on the 335. I LOVE mine! It has become my #1 electric over my Teles and a LP Jr. Unfortunately, mine recently suffered the dreaded Gibson headstock break.....but its fixed, plays as good as ever and I don't plan to ever sell it. Enjoy your 335, but take my advice....NEVER put it on a guitar stand.

Hope you didn't injure anything important - they can be a bit heavy...

Another recent ES335 new owner here. My only regret is I waited so long to acquire one. Just a fantastic instrument. Congrats on yours!

Good advice. Fortunately all my guitars live in their cases.

I'll get pics this weekend.

The moment my ES-335 joined the band it took over. Good luck putting down yours.

I got my ES335 earlier this year upgraded the pickups to Mythos PAFs and it’s the best electric I’ve ever owned. Congratulations on joining the club.

Like Bob, my 335 was a game changer for me too. Until I got my PRS S2. Now it’s a tossup between the 335, the PRS and my trusty old Strat, depending on genre and song style.

335s are just awesome; I still love mine. Recently put D’Addario XT strings on it and I am loving the combination!
