Default Good Morning - plans for the week-end?

Good morning Everyone. Who's starting off their week-end with a cup of coffee or tea? Any big plans?

Just going to relax myself.

Got a gig tonite at our favorite venue.
Should be good, it's a "beer tasting" event.

People often ask "what do you do when you retire?

Nanny Jane and I have had both had pretty busy week, and we are enjoying doing nothing this weekend.

Jane always gets up far earlier than I and I always find a glass of orange juice waiting for me on the banisters when I "arise" it is very good for my dry mouth/throat in the mornings. I'll go into my office and a mug of tea will arrive shortly.

I did my morning admin, and then ambled up to the allotment to pick some french beans for this evening's meal, and then had ... TOAST! This may sound banal, but I have just found that I can eat (some) bread again after my treatment last year.

I've just watched the FORMULA 1 EMIRATES GROSSER PREIS VON DEUTSCHLAND 2018 at Hockenheim (Lewis out on quali 2)

It is still blisteringly hot today, so I'll water the crops early evening, and I "may" change the strings on a couple of guitars this afternoon.

I'll cycle to the gym tomorrow morning, make some Fasolakia and tsatsiki , then watch the big race at 2.p.m. It'll be interesting to watch Hamilton's progress from 14th place!

Had a nice visit and lunch with Tim and Mary Mcknight today - always a pleasure.

Tomorrow I'm going to my old hometown and play golf with my old bass player from the 70's who I've been lifelong friends with.

More excitement than this homebody is used to

Started my Saturday with a wicked case of insomnia, and took a walk with the dog at 3 am. Caught an hour of sleep and got up to make a pot of coffee, inhale a cup or three, then help one of my kids set up for an outdoor market where she sells her chainmail jewelry. Went home surfed the net for a bit, showered, played frisbee with the dog, then walked up to the annual vintage car show, and weekly farmer's market. A guy I know came over to see a Fender Squier Telecaster I've been trying to sell. He bought it and I tossed in a microphone he can likely fix, and some parts. More money for either a new camper trailer or a new guitar.

Yesterday we went to a couple of pet rescue places to look at getting a second dog, chose one, and will pick her up tomorrow...so Sunday will be all about dogs. Maybe the bride and I will get some time together.

Bumped into some friends I hadn't seen in a while at the car show and chewed the fat for twenty minutes.

A weekend in a life.

Boring, eh?

I'm spending the weekend recovering from kidney stone surgery...again. Had in-laws come over today for a spaghetti dinner and we watched a recording of qualifying for the German Grand Prix. Later my daughter came over with her eight month old pitbull Sophie to have some spaghetti and have Sophie (54 lbs) meet our two Italian Greyhound rescues, Mario and Sky (14 lbs). Both are also over ten years old. It actually went better than I thought it would and we'll get them together again tomorrow.

Tomorrow will also be the German Grand Prix. I'll continue recovery and just relax and probably read. Maybe some guitar.

How exciting!

Here's a primer:

Oh, him.

I thought - probably like most people - that you were going to see Arlo Bugeja, the Australian speedway driver.
