Looks really good. Sounds like a Kinnaird is a good enough endorsement for me Chris...that means you will love it...

Ryan,

Redemption Song is a little idiosyncratic. I'll happily settle for a campfire version of No Woman No Cry.

Late last week Ryan was practicing Surfing Bird. Complete with moves.
I think this guitar brings out the best of whoever plays it.

Well,.. If he didn't hyper ventilate singing it, I hope he at least refrained from tapping out the drum break on that sweet looking Sitka.

Yeah we've been playing our lowly F1 all afternoon. John Kinnaird kinda nodded his head and said something like a cross of "Yeah" and "Humph" - Yeamph. Steve's comment was "pretty good." It sounds like a Kinnaird. Maybe I should get some help on description. Maybe I could say if Stephen Stills had been playing this he would have been a multi-platinum Grammy award winning artist. I don't know, that may be overstating it. Like Chris said, this is just the oldest town in Texas - what could you expect from here?

It sounds pretty darn good to me. Our best OM...maybe, but it's just the first day. Let's let it break in first. It's just a double-X (against Chris' vote).

I have to get home before I can post pics. I'll show it off in a bit.
I think I was more effusive than that. Like yep yep, sounds gooood

Well, the week's up. The boss is back. Here's what we're accomplishing currently.

The F1 has left for the great white north and a Lizzard's cave. I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out - there's only the normal amount of apprehension about how it will fit in its new home. I can't thank all of you enough for your help throughout this thread. It was a lot of fun and you, especially Chris, made this lonely employee really enjoy his work.

Now, I wonder what should be next...

NICE! Love the Flops on the Boss and the same "kickers" on Ryan.

All joking aside, I am really looking forward to this build. I have No Sitka, No EIR, Nor OM (let alone deep) and (much to my chagrin) no XX bracing.

I know that I have been snarky but I meant it all in the most disingenuous way. This has been great fun and I hope to pummel the F-1 into submission in time.

Mad respect to you both (and thanks to John for chiming in).

This feels like a family collaboration since (as I understand), John gave the wood to Steve, Ryan started the build while Steve was visiting John and the guitar was completed while John was visiting Steve. Very Cool.

All best, can't wait for NGD!

Chris

It's Oregon Myrtle. It just happened to be in the shot. It was not a subliminal sales pitch.

It is the lack of snow outside the window that makes my head hang down. Not that it has been too cold here this winter. Oh why did my parents stop here rather than go with their siblings all the way across the country?
