Actually a bowl of water will leave stain marks inside the guitar, a sponge rung out and sat between the strings would be a better alternative if it’s too dry

Of course the outside of the bowl itself is not wet. Not talking sight-impairment here. The humidity source needs to be inside the body, not on top of. Your sponge in a bowl, inside the guitar, a good synthesis that will prevent spills, and this is how I’ll do it in the future.
WHICH REMINDS ME! A master luthier kind enough to post a tutorial removed stains from a cracked finish area in the top of a guitar with demineralized water, which actually grabs on to dirt to remineralize itself. Tried it myself on the inside of a guitar I was working on, it works like a charm. Got to use demineralized, no other kind of water. Last edited by BillRomansky; 08-26-2018 at 08:14 AM. |

You write that the neck is straight and the action is fine for you. How much belly is there in the top? There should be a little belly. If you lay a straight edge across the top, below the bridge, there should be a total of 1/8 for both sides.
How much belly does your guitar have? If the guitar plays well, it probably doesn't matter. |
