Nicely done, Maxwell! You are building quite the EBEGAD repository of compositions. I especially liked the phrase that starts at 00:23 and the fact that the song expresses "nostalgia" in an unusual way (I would have associated it with a slower, airier piece, for example).

Thanks Diogo, I appreciate you saying that. Yeah, I primarily play in that tuning - for the last 2 years now. I keep telling myself I will explore a different one, but I continue finding melodies and moods that lead to more ideas and compositions. So it's become like my standard tuning now, for better or worse

So the origins of the "nostalgia" for this piece comes from doo-wop and R&B hits from the 50's.

I used to listen to those songs a lot as a kid, and so there are 3 movements in this composition that all represent a kind of tribute to different progressions or feelings from listening to that genre. The full title is: "A Nostalgia Suite"

But also the way that David Lynch might have used that musical aesthetic and themes during his late 80's early 90's period - also indicative of a certain nostalgia (e.g. Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks) as those works were influential on me at the time. so when I was composing this piece last year I was listening to a lot of that music and the memories / images it brings up for me from when I was younger both in music and film.

So it's nostalgia wrapped in nostalgia.. hahaha. If that makes sense..
