You set yourself up for some comments with this post. Seems as if prices have risen in the used market recently as $2500 seems reasonable to me for a basic Collings, etc. Now I rarely see anything in that price range, unless it is well used. Saying times are tough but you want a high-end boutique guitar might not get you a lot of looks...nothing the matter with looking for a deal though. Good luck, hope you find something.

Not the seller of either of these:
Early build by Atkin guitars (yes the Atkin with prices now at $3-5k and up.) Competitive price. Guitar has some wear and tear, but I bet it's a killer. Well under you budget. Would buy it myself, but it's 1 11/6th nut. https://reverb.com/item/34258901-ali...in-dreadnaught Another handmade option coming in well under your budget... Could probably lob up a guess that this D-18 style would sound close to a Country Boy. Flottman Dread Lastly, Casey Culwell is a builder whose pricing is so competitive, it just might make your socks fall off. Here is his Facebook page. Give him a call or message and see what his build price is or see what he has in stock. https://www.facebook.com/pages/categ...9779609078643/

There is a 2012 Santa Cruz OM/PW on Reverb for $2400. Now THAT’S a deal. Sorry...I can’t share the ad here. Look it up! The seller is in Missouri.

Do a search on Reverb. You will see a few Collings around $2700.

I'd look at a Waterloo Jumbo King. Big, loud sound, lots of personality, with Collings quality at a lower price point. They're not super easy to sell used, so you can usually negotiate a very fair deal.
