Maybe Emerald could sponsor a traveling roadshow with a bunch of demo models and have people register/reserve/purchase demo time. They may not be able to break even on the front end of a roadshow. But, the back end potential would probably be limited by production capability. The age old conflict conundrum of sales vs production.

Road shows for hard to access guitars seems like a good idea, and I'm not sure how these were handled for the MacNichol shows. Here is a plan/ proposal, but this would make more sense if Emerald were trying to drum up sales/ awareness. Still could be a usable idea?

**Fancy veneers and colors don't change anything about the instruments other than aesthetic, so....

-Keep them simple in black color, one of each of their most popular models

-Find a US dealer and and make favorable business deal that benefits both Emerald and dealer, Emerald ships models to dealer for the program.

-Dealer stocks instruments and gets a pool of "road show" participants on board

-ship instrument to first participant, "renter" keeps for X time

-renter ships on to next participant in road sow

-last renter sends instrument back to dealer

-dealer lists final condition of road worn instrument and holds an auction

-winner buys auction instrument at presumably a good deal

-if there is no interest in remaining instrument then Emerald or dealer can sell as B-Stock and split sale?

Something like this could work? No?

Of course it could work.

If it was necessary.

I think the evidence of the last couple of years - the social media presence, the shipping videos, the continuing custom orders - would suggest that Emerald has got its act together, and is in a pretty happy place.

Yes, we’re an enthusiastic bunch of fanboys here, but if we represent more than 1% of their actual owners, I’d be amazed.

Just look at the Friday shipping videos, we may be closer to .1%

True. My 2019 X20-7 has a serial number in the mid-5000s.

I think the last statement above is something that we fanboys sometimes love sight of when we start talking about any carbon fiber guitar, let alone one from an Irish company that may be little known even in the general acoustic guitar playing/buying public. I wouldn't want to stifle any ideas whose purpose is to get the word out, but I would question how many folks would actually show up to look at/sample Emerald guitars at a road show...

If I knew this I'd drop it once and for all. Last I heard was when I shared it with Simon who said he'd passed it onto Alistair; but that was before the covid19 shutdown...

My apologies. I thought all the parades had been canceled this year

As I’ve said before, if I was Emerald, I’m really not sure I’d want to take on such a register. Data Privacy in Ireland is governed by GDPR, and would represent a significant administrative load.
If you play it REAL LOUD, and I listen from my balcony VERY CAREFULLY, maybe, just maybe we can beat those little COVIDs and I can at least hear how your X20 sounds.

Tony

Nah, was hoping to see if I could get away with one thing that wouldn't get canceled
