Default Headphone Headaches (Literally)

I bought $40 headphones from Radio Shack and they literally give me a headache. It is becoming really frustrating, especially during marathon sessions of recording.

Another "feature" I've found is that they don't isolate sound well, and it leaks.

Any suggestions for headphones that won't break my budget? Thanks!

Sony MDR 7506. Good sound, comfy enough to wear for hours at a time (for me anyway). Easy to drive and they fold up into themselves to be semi-portable.

I recently got a pair of Sennheiser HD380's. I like them alot. Comfortable and circum-aural - so no sound bleed. About $175, so that may break your budget. But, we don't know what your budget is???

I also have HD280's, which are about $100.

The best sound I have found is with Grado's (pick your model for best sound for the buck). However they will bleed sound some as they have open backs (I set up the sound with them and then record without them).

I have the HD280 Pro's, $99.00 from Musicians Friend, Guitar Center, etc. They sound great and are comfortable. My wife has a pair also and loves them. It's always good to take a break from your headphones every so often to avoid aural and physical fatigue. $40 pair from Radio Shack though, not good.
