Boss BR-8 users: projects? Results?
I have a BR-8 that I've underused and intend to change that soon and record some quality demo tunes -- simple stuff with acoustic guitars, vocals, a little hand percussion, maybe some mando, maybe some bass... Just thought I'd check and see if there are other users out there who have these and what their experiences are with them. I've been pretty happy with it so far; very simple (although I wonder if I could be optimizing my use of it better)... Thoughts?

OK, I'll modify the question a bit: anyone used a digital recorder (8-track or otherwise) for their acoustic guitar-based recording project? Any digital deck will do, I guess; mostly I'm looking for people who've recorded this way as opposed to directly into a computer... Gracias...

SL, I use a BR864 and do all recording, mixing and mastering on the unit. The only time I put anything on the computer is to burn CDs and rip to MP3 for internet uploads. I have tried computer-based recording, but I like the simplicity of real knobs, switches and sliders rather than a mouse and graphics (yes, I'm old-school). You can hear the results at either link in my signature.

I like using a standalone digital multitrack unit (I have a Tascam DP-008) because it really forces me to just experiment. I find when I try recording on my computer I just end up reading internet forums
