Default A new Journey in Life, a new guitar, a new Kostal! Brazilian/German ???

A magnificent piece of musical art! Congratulations Eric, and I look forward to seeing it in Woodstock. Too bad it's backwards, as I'd love to give it a quick try! Oh well, soon enough I'll have one of my own.

I'll ask Jason about the bridge and get back to you!

One thing that was fun was that Jason and I were reminded that 4 years ago, I received my first kostal at woodstock.

Jason said that the previous guitar was built at the Somogyi shop and built like a Somogyi. This guitar was built at his own shop and is built like the current way he is building.

I go to woodstock today and can't wait to see it! Monday, I go into the studio with this and my mod D and will get some recordings.

Until then, here are some glamour shots!

I didn't think there was any straight-grained BRW left. Awesome!

Hope to see this at the next "sayhey2jeff" AGF gathering maybe?

Default Another KOSTAL BEAUTY

Hey Eric.....This guitar is a real beauty. Stunning set of BRW and amazing top wood. I may have missed it, but is this a set of German or Italian? It's one of the best I've seen in quite a while. Although the woods, rosette and overall elegance of the build are fantastic, the REAL beauty of Jason's guitars comes through the minute you touch the strings and that signature sound "hits" you. You're a lucky guy to have two of these guitars!! I remember your posts with that "wicked" MD Brazilian a few years back. I was picking my MD woods when you selected that set. I kept thinking..."dang, if I had only seen THAT set sooner!!! :-) Most people will search forever to find woods like these- built by someone who knows how to make them SING in a way that really does them justice! Congratulations!...

I don't want to ruin the moment here -- but Eric are you thinking about a third Kostal? Imagine a 00 or a jumbo with the same tonewood combination... Or an OM with maple back and sides... Or even an OM identical to the one you just received -- but with no cutaway. There are endless variations to dream of...
