Default NGD: Collings 001T (New Photos!)

I just pulled the trigger on a new to me Collings 001T on route next week!

I've been active on this forum with my Waterloo’s going through most of their lineup the last two years (WL-14L Aged, WL-S, WL-12 Aged, WL-K, WL-S Deluxe) but always wanting a more traditional 00-12 fret.

I had an Eastman E10-00 at one point too but it didn't stay long. Nice guitar but it couldn't compete with my Waterloo at the time. I thought long and hard on a custom Martin 00-18S 12 fret but couldn’t quite find what I was looking for, they are pretty rare. Maybe that's a good thing because everything I see and hear online on these Collings 'T' models sounds just right! Refined, powerful and balanced.

Now to soften the angst and the wait... Collings fans! Admirers of boutique guitars!

What are your thoughts on these Collings? What did I just buy?

I have a DS2h, a 0002h, and when I grow up, I hope to get a 002h!

Thanks everyone! Just thinking out loud a little more... what is this ultra thin nitro finish like? Is it like the Waterloo line or slightly thicker?

Oh, man, that would be the perfect small-bodied guitar for me.

Congrats!

It’s a great size for a guitar, and a fine model from one of the very best makers.
It’ll be different from your Waterloo, in a very complementary way.

Odds are you’ll love it!

Good for you! Collings makes superb guitars. I particularly like its Traditional series. Bet you’re going to love it.

Congrats. I think you're going to LOVE it. I have a T Series OM and it's a superb instrument. Have been checking out 001Ts lately as a complement to the Rosewood OM. Can't say enough about the overall quality Collings just keeps pumping out.

What a absolute gem of a 12 fret. I wish I had the spare funds for that one. Congratulations

I have two 001 traditional 14-fretters. They're delightful. I'm sure your 12-fret will be equally as wonderful

Silly, don’t grow up. It is highly overrated! Hahaha

Nice 00. Way to go
