Default Vermont Luthiers

Seven Vermont Luthiers Who Push the Boundaries of Instrument Making

Nice compilation article about seven luthiers with origins, or located in the “Green Mountain State.”

Caution: When I clicked on the link, my computer virus software identified and neutralized a threat.

Interesting David - it didn't happen here using two different platforms: ios and Windows 11 with NOD 32. Honestly, there are so many layers to these systems today, and they try to make them so opaque, who knows what your computer was seeing as possibly virus worthy? I have had the same issue here and rarely figure it out (but it's usually an out of date security token)

Absolutely. I wonder where Vermont ranks as to number of luthiers\person. Probably pretty high!

Yeah, what about Hatcher Guitars? Thanks for mentioning me here. There are a lot more luthiers in Vermont and this article is mentioning seven of them. That’s fine, I’m a new guy here and have been setting up shop and learning my way around. Allied is here and I’ve bought a number of tops and backs there.

I’ve also been over to Guitar Sam’s in Montpelier to see Kevin who makes wonderful ukes. In fact, I brought a student of mine out to meet Kevin and get advice about ukes when I was still in New Hampshire. It was my impression of Vermont from that trip that came to mind when Karen and I decided it was time to do a little fine tuning to our relocation to New England.

I find Vermont is very entrepreneurial. There are a lot of small businesses around with some serious art going on. Plus it is just gorgeous up here!

Maybe we should all drop the publication a note and have them feature “Seven More Luthiers!”

Interesting, indeed. I just clicked on the link which triggered the same warning.
I think I get it. I live in Maine. We have a very deep luthier bench - Bourgeois, Brondel, Slobod and Arcara, among others. So, we don't need no guitars "from away," including VT (well, except for that Froggy Bottom H12 that is my pride and joy).

I’ve clicked on the link 2 different times and did not get the message. I do have an ad blocker installed and wonder if the message you’re receiving is related to data associated with an ad?

And yes, let’s get Mark and other great VT based luthiers some coverage.

Odd, indeed. I have an ad blocker, as well. I just tried the link for the third time, with the same result.
And then again by manually tying in the address. Same warning.

Hmm, I have an ad blocker and a WiFi router that yells at me when it sees danger coming but I got to the site on the first try.

Default FYI - AVG Antivirus

All -

I decided to send a "False Positive" report to AVG yesterday and...

That was a nice fast response!

Now, let's all contact the "Seven Days" folks and suggest a follow-up article: "Seven More Luthiers in Vermont!"

Thanks, Mr. Wizard. I just tried the link, and no more demons.

Probably didn't include me because either I started a year too early (1972)...or perhaps I'm not pushing any boundaries??? Nice article though!

Go Vermont!!!
