It would be easy me to go with 5 Dylan thru Blood on the Tracks. However, if I’m going to be on the island a long time with chance of good behavior or getting off for it, have to include
Monk - Round Midnight Coltrane - Favorite Things Dylan - from Concert for Bangladesh Hendrix - Electric Ladyland Stones - Let it Bleed can we trade something else for more albums? Jeff

I really couldn't imagine limiting myself to just 5 choices for some future scenario so I simply looked to my past. These 5 (and some runner ups) are the music that has been in my ears the most for the past 50 years or so. Always handy, always immediately replaced if rendered non functional (as close to the original configuration as possible), and often listened to. No particular order:
Old Train The Seldom Scene Elvis' Gold Beethoven 4th Bernard Haitink & the London symphony Top Priority Rory Gallagher Jo + Jazz Jo Stafford Honorable Mention: Waiting for Columbus Little Feat Live At Filmore East Allman Brothers "White Album" Beatles Temptation's Greatest Hits Temptations Endless Summer Beach Boys Truth to tell all of the "honorable mentions" meet the same criteria as the 5 winners and could easily go on that list. |

Souvenirs - Dan Fogelberg
Only - Tommy Emmanuel Harvest - Neil Young Minstrel in the Gallery - Jethro Tull Led Zepplin 4 Honorable mention - Red Octopus - Jefferson Starship. There's so much that I loved to listen to - Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Cat Stevens, Gordon Lightfoot, Grateful Dead, etc, etc. It's a really long list, just like every other guitarist/musician's list.
