Just as a point of reference, folks, I've recently been going through my pick drawer (more like a closet) and measuring those old Fender shapes. A Fender Medium is at .67-.68 mm and a Heavy is, I believe, in the neighborhood of .88-.90 mm.

Have the usual amount (50-60) of various store bought picks lying around, but over the past few years have gone to making my own. Cut/grind to the general size (jazz 3) and mod to my liking...concave area for my thumb and slot for the index. Current favs are made out of old nickles, the other out of bone and then lignum vitae. Like my picks stout, about 1.5mm, smooth bevel, balanced feeling and able to hold on with a light touch. Soo from the basement.

The Gravity Gold arrived today. It's a nice pick but the regular Gravity axis is still tops for me. The gold isnt far behind but the regular Gravity gives a tad more clarity.

There is actually a tool for stamping out picks from credit cards and such.

Like a hole punch, but a pick punch!

Ah, I spy a gold Herco nylon in there!

Those were my faves for years, for electric playing

I used the .50 gold for electric guitar and the .75 silver for bass (though I rarely used a pick on bass.)

I don't know if I have really tried them on acoustic but I know I still have some. I just prefer thicker gauges in general.

One thing I will say--I never had a Herco pick break or crack, even over years of keeping one in my wallet that got used constantly. They do wear down a bit over time with heavy use though.

Love the grips on them.

Here and there, near and far. I think the furthest I've gotten from is the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The washer and dryer! But seriously folks...

I love V-Picks! I use The Screamer for acoustic stuff. They're the only picks I've ever used where I felt like they improved my tone and technique. Well worth it IMO.

The washer and dryer, yes. And for me -- the carpet.

Yeah those shag carpets can be real pick eaters.

George, come on over and comb through our brown carpet and you'll probably leave with about $100 worth of picks.

At some point around 2009, AGF had a fundraiser giveaway. A Red Bear pick was one of the giveaways. I asked Dave Skowron, the owner, if he would upgrade it to an LB Custom thumb pick and I would pay the difference. He was kind enough to assent.

It was the last pick I bought, other than the backup I bought a few years back in case this one breaks or wears out.

I only use flat picks for electric guitar. Tortex orange. I find those online and then, because of my kids, everywhere in my house.

I have one of these and used it quite a bit when i couldn’t find my regular picks (which of course showed up when I opened the case I was sure they weren’t in). The tool cuts a good shape - and if you cut picks out of credit cards, the raised bits make a great grip. Hotel RFID door keys are often even better.

I was looking this up the other day, and apparently most credit cards are still made with celluloid, the number one guitar pick material in the world. So this makes a lot of sense.
