l Heard the Voice of Jesus Say, instrumental
Thanks for Listening! I heard the voice of Jesus say, “Come unto Me, and rest; Lay down, thou weary one, lay down Thy head upon My breast.” I came to Jesus as I was, Weary, and worn, and sad; I found in Him a resting-place, And He has made me glad.

Thanks bluefingers, i noticed i had mix matched the title with another Hymn I play, so i corrected the original post but can't change the title apparently.
the correct tune is "I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say".

Too kind, thanks. Ive been working on hymns for almost two years, mixed in with other stuff. Your vocabulary improves over time. The first 15 or so that I learned by ear I'd have to really do a ton of trial and error trying to find harmonies. Its getting more automatic, im up to about 45 hymns now. One thing that is really nice is that you always have a lot of things you can just play for a minute or two since they are more or less short Melodies that aren't real developed. I tried to play each of them at least twice a week so I do not forget.
That turned into a typed out practice schedule, and now metronome markings next to the songs on the paper for the ones I'm struggling with. That level of organization and the metronome might be the best advice I could have received a few years ago.

Thanks Glenn, if only I had a voice. I'm so glad for you that you get to enjoy using yours.[emoji1]

I'd never heard this hymn before. Looked it up and listened to several vocal versions. It goes well with Celtic instruments. All the hymns you post are so well done and touch the soul. Thanks so much.

Thank you for the kind words. I agree there is a Celtic feel too many of these hymns. I'll be trying to record a few more of these next week.

Very nice! I think Jesus would prefer the instrumental, without the lyrics.
