Gibson LG-2 3/4 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Sunburst top, dark back and sides finish, mahogany back, sides and neck, spruce top, rosewood fingerboard. Vintage Gibsons don't come much cuter than this! The diminutive 3/4 LG-2 was the company's equivalent to Martin's 5-18, the smallest guitar in the line. Although created for the burgeoning student market of the 1950s the LG-2 3/4 is still built to the standards of a fully professional quality guitar. The narrow-waisted curvy body form was actually handed down from Gibson's late 1920s TG series tenor guitars. It's got '50s Gibson mojo: nicely blended dark sunburst top, natural mahogany back and sides and triple binding around the top and rosette. Despite its small size, this is a great-playing guitar with a bright and very punchy sound. It's in great shape: a faint surface crack between the sound hole and the bridge has no structural or functional significance, and other than that it's pretty pristine. I purchased it 5 years ago. Since then I have kept it in a smoke-free, humidity-controlled environment and handled it with TLC. Scale length is approx. 22 3/4", body length is approx. 17 1/4", lower bout width 12 3/4", body depth is 3 7/8". Nut is 1 5/8". Action just under 4 mm at 12th fret - keep in mind that with its very short scale it plays quite easy. Comes with Gator hardshell case, D'addario Quick-Release strap accessory, blue-gold woven strap, and a new set of John Pearse Light strings.
