Default An odd alternate tuning

I just stumbled back upon a song from many years ago and decided to learn it... but the guitar tuning is quite interesting.

It's EBEBBE. I was a little nervous to tune up so high, but once there it made the song sound perfect.

Think I'll work on it some this morning and then record it just for fun. I haven't recorded anything in quite a while.

Anyone know any songs in this tuning?

What song are you working on that uses that tuning?

Actually, I realized it's actually DADAAD so it's a drop tuning (except for the B string). It's Save It For Later by The (English) Beat... covered by Pete Townsend, Pearl Jam, and others.

are you tuning that g string to a b without the help of a capo?

nick drake used BEBEBE for man in a shed, if i remember correctly. of course that is a different tuning than the one you are enquiring about.

I did! Until I realized it was actually DADAAD.

Even if it were in EBEBBE that right thing to do would be to tune to DADAAD and capo on the 2nd fret.

"Except the for B string"? Maybe you mean the G string (tuned up to A)?
