IOS Microphones?
Anyone using IOS based microphones for recording? I'm not looking for anything fancy and will only use for hearing myself when practicing. Nothing over maybe $150. There are too many to choose from on the Sweetwater site.
Thanks

I have a Shure MV88. It has the Motiv Audio app to set the gain, pick up pattern and other stuff. Changes are remembered between uses so you don’t have to reset them every time. Just plug and go. Watch out if you have a case on you iOS device. It might interfere. The MV88 is right at your price point.
I do quick recordings with the free Voice Memos app from Apple, but there are others. The Music Memos app isn’t available for download anymore (deprecated), but you can still use for now if you already have it. Not to be be a GAS-kill but the internal mic on the iPhone does a pretty good job if all you want is to hear yourself, but the MV88 is definitely better. Cheers and good luck. _Roger PS: Forgot to mention, there’s the MV88+ kit for a few $$ more. You might check that out. Also the bare MV88 is available on Amazon for $130. _RP Last edited by RogerPease; 07-31-2021 at 09:44 AM. Reason: postscript |

I have an iRig mic studio condenser that is right in your price range. I've used it on a bunch of recordings, and it's done a great job.

The Blue yeti has the most options and it will pick up all sounds in the room good and bad and it is pretty large.
The AKG Lyra looks really cool and works well A good all around choice is the Shure mv5. It is inexpensive and small as well |

What the Tula has going for it is built in Brusfi noise reduction, which works exceptionally well. Unlike many NR methods, this one sounds really good with music.
I did this little demo of it: https://youtu.be/jtwXsPVDzuc |

Does that come with a little stand? On the Sweetwater site it says you get only the mic and wires in one place but down further it says you get a stand as well.
