I know that some prefer the SM57 over the SM58 as a vocal mic, but if you watch any music show you will rarely see SM57s used for vocals. That doesn't mean it's a bad thing, just uncommon. BTW, I have both, plus a couple of Sennheiser e835s, a Sennheiser e838, and a couple of Behringer XM8500s as emergency backups. For my voice I prefer the e838, but I really have no problem using any of these.
