Default Gig bag for Gibson SJ-200??.

Does anyone know of a reasonable priced gig bag that is sized for a jumbo, and the SJ-200 in particular? With the weather improving I’d like to take it out more but don’t like carrying the heavy case. Haven’t been able to find one online so thought I’d check here with folks....

Mike, I don't want to sound like a wise guy, but do you really want to put a $3,000+ guitar in a gig bag?

Yikes! Gig bag? I wouldn’t even use a gig bag for an Estaban!

I'm with Barry. Solid body guitars maybe, but not acoustics. Just my 2¢.

Thanks for the suggestion Dot Neck, they look like they are good quality and do indeed have one that’s meant for the J-200. I realize that gig bags are generally not meant for higher end guitars but I’ve taken my j45 vintage everywhere in one and have never had issues...love having them as an option when the gig is a long hike away

I dunno Barry...

I use gig bags for my 3 John Greven custom 6 strings and my 1969 Guild F512 Custom 12 string all the time...as much as possible...for going on 7+ years now and I have NEVER had any issues whatsoever. I have those super nice Taylor Hard sided gig bags for two of the Grevens, and a super nice older Ritter that I use for the 3rd Greven, a Prairie State model, and the Guild 12'er.

I do have nice...not super high end, but nice...Hard Cases for all four of them, but they are just so much less forgiving for knockin' about on day trips, or weekend, or longer trips or vacations with your guitar

And...I take mine outside to the beach, or the mountains, or down to the river, or wherever I wish to go. Gig bags are soooooooo much more portable/easy to travel with...gotta love backpack straps...and they generally have a lot more accessory pockets for goodies.

If you are going out on a long Tour, or for shipping or Airline/Truck/Train/Bus travel where you know your guitar is gonna have to go into the cargo hold, then yeah, a super good hard case is what you need.

But for laying around at home in your closet, or under your bed....c'mon boyz...really?

Don't forget that case cover for that super duper hard case...{;-)

duff

I'd be freaking out with just a cloth bag for an expensive guitar.

Some misread your inquiry, which was not should you use a gig bag, but is there one available...here is one https://www.blueheroncases.com/soft-...ic-guitar-case

Here in SoCal, I see players who have nothing. No case, no bag. The weather's a factor, sure, but it's also that you overextend to buy a guitar and it doesn't come with anything, and you say to yourself, well, when I need a case I'll get one. And that day never comes.
