Default Fender American Performer

Have not had a chance to audition BUT This New American Performer series (or perhaps more accurately updated and renamed series ) looks interesting. USA made fender right at $1100
I suppose the real criteria for it's success is if the new pickup's and tone circuit will be such that there is no need or want to change. Looking forward to trying these out

I picked one up locally. It’s very nice! The vintage looking tuners are very precise and the Yosemite pickups sound great. Here is mine, in vintage white and a YT review that reflects my experience with the same Tele. I’m taking it to it’s first gig in the morning.

Yep, I'm interested in trying the new Yosemite pickups ... makes me think of Yosemite Sam lol.

Does the Performer series replace the Special series or is the Special series also still being made?

Yes, the American Performer series replaces the American Special series. Specials are still available on websites.... until they’re gone.

Thanks, KW. Yes that is a humbucker. Pulling up on the tone knob splits it into a single coil. When spit, both pickups together are hum canceling. So two of the four settings are humbucking. I played it with the band for the first time this morning. It sounded great and tuning stability was very good.

Split coil also very cool.

Will have to try the tele and strat , unfortunately the nearest city with any significant selection for guitar shops is about 250 miles away
