Default Brazilian Choro - Original Composition "Papito's Choro"

This tune is called "Paptio's Choro" after my Grandfather. This piece was inspired by all those fantastic Brazilian melodies and the playing of Yamandu Costa.

Played on my Finger 0MC3 and in EBEGAD tuning.

Well done. Liked the playing and composition style.

My favorite Choro from years back is Villa-Lobos’ Choros No. 1

thank you! I definitely had that "Choros no1" swing / bounce feel in mind as I was writing this.

Very nice, Maxwell!

I've composed only a single Choro on mandolin, but decided 5 part tunes are a distinct disadvantage when playing with others who are used to playing mostly AABB tunes!

Thank you Rudy.. keeping the song structure authentic was definitely a challenge and not one I'd take to the jam session.. hahaha do you have a recording of your composition? would be cool to hear!

Thanks for sharing that, Maxwell. I may be biased by my being Brazilian, but I love choro and think Yamandu has only gotten better with age as he got the shredding out of his system, hehe.

Great composition and appreciate your sharing.

Also, what a cozy guitar room!

Thank you so much Diogo. It's validating to me that you feel it captured the spirit of Choro! And yes, Yamandu is one of the greatest of all time, I agree also that he has grown in his soulfulness... I think it happens to all of us as we get older

Checked out your youtube, love your music and I subscribed to your channel!
