That is so cool--Carl Miner is an amazing player. Can't wait to see all the performers!

Edit: Carl was 2nd place in the National Flat Pick Guitar Championship in 1998 and 2007 and took first place in 1999!

Default B.I.G. III! New Braunfels, Tx Sept. 2nd-4th Feat. Carl Miner, Thomas Leeb, F&T

Steve, Mike and Dennis…I appreciate the approval of my first two selections for B.I.G. …..and Tom, what a stellar lineup you’ve assembled!!! I’m getting really excited.

Here’s the third guitar I’ll be bringing to the show. It’s my “Luna 000” model. I’ve chosen a beautiful set of Cocobolo and paired it with a Tunnel-14 Redwood soundboard. I can’t believe the sound that she’s already producing:

He will be playing Friday night in our home and doing a workshop on Saturday! Please come to see him with Frog and Toad and Thomas Leeb on Saturday!

You're welcome haha!

Tom
This is too much! I'm super pumped, looking forward to seeing everyone there again this year. This is one of my favorite things I look forward to each year! Thank you Tom and Kathy!

The attached TNAG video is a great example of just how sweet of a player Carl is, as well as how sweet that Lame Horse guitar is that Chris and Jeremy built.

Thanks for posting this video, he is amazing.

Thanks, trying to get accurate info on Carl is a little hard, mystery man!

Default Dan, Thank you for Posting That

This black top Lame Horse guitar that Carl Miner is demoing at TNAG, will soon be on its way to its new home in England, where it will be joining 2 or 3 other Lame Horse guitars with that same owner. I had never met Carl Miner before delivering this guitar to TNAG. He just happened to be there that day when Jeremy and I brought them a couple of instruments. However, he tried the guitar, and seemed to like it. I was pretty sure he liked it when he asked me if we had any more like that one.

Here is the next little tease for a guitar heading to B.I.G. from Ben Wilborn. His words:

Nautilus sized set of Brazilian which I will couple with a Carpathian spruce top and Macassar ebony binding. I don’t get to build many guitars on spec these days ( not complaining!) but it’s fun to build whatever suits me. I love the dark staining that shows throughout this set.

I'm super excited to hear about this "spec" guitar coming to B.I.G. I have an order with Ben with the same specs, so it will be a great precursor to audition this one before mine gets put together a year from now.

BTW, Ben showed me this set along with his mind blowing BRZ stash. He also has some amazing Mad Rose, and Coco sets that were equally impressive. I felt a bit intoxicated after my visit, and I chose a wonderful BRZ set. After coming to my senses, it was too late, Ben had already sent me the build sheet using permanent ink. I guess I'm stuck with my decision.
