Thanks Cigarfan!
That white Engelmann top and all that black ebony really makes the abalone and figured Koa scream! Mark

Wow, did that really come out great. I had been quiet on this build as I am not the biggest fan of the ebony, but I should have known you would have taken this to the ultimate level once again Mark. The abalone and koa combination just jumps off the guitar. That is incredible, so as always, fantastic build!!!!
You know you are doing something right when every guitar you build causes me heartburn,,,woops, I mean GAS!!!! |

Black Ebony certainly creates a background that can make a little bit of figured wood and abalone really shine. We don't see it yet but once the gloss is on the Black will really come into it's own. Thanks again! Mark

BRW/ADI Small Jumbo
I'm pulling this BRW/ADI Josie small jumbo together to string up. Here are some final assembly and detail shots:
I am pleased with how the Bloodwood theme worked out. I made the tuner buttons in Bloodwood as well as the truss rod cover. The strings will be on this one shortly! Mark

Back in the Black
This black Ebony parlor guitar needs a neck and what better wood would go than Koa? In selecting the wood stock we wanted some flame but, not so much that we run into stability problems:
You can see I used a black Ebony center strip up that middle of the laminates. Thank-you for viewing! Mark
