Default Kiefer Sutherland - "busking" - with a ???

This video popped up when I went into YouTube to check this morning's comments on my videos.

How many here know what his guitar is?

Wow, Moller and Ozzy - can't get much past you guys ! Congrats,

Please accept this virtual award! ..... ?

This, folks, is Alister Atkin's website : https://atkinguitars.com/

I've never met him nor seen any of his guitars, but I like his "style" on his videos.

Hmmm... On the main page of that website is the phrase, "Made to be played, now more than ever." I think a certain iconic guitar company might have a bone to pick with that statement.

I had a (1998?) Gibson Buddy Holly J 45. For about a half a day.
The owner didn't use much protection, including no guitar box, so he was forced to accept a return from Reverb.
Cracked neck joint.

I did play a few chords on it though and I wish I could of explored it some more. Super lush signature model. We share the same birthday and I love his music.

Keifer certainly is a talented man.
I find him sincere in both his acting abilities, and his musical abilities. Great sounding voice, and a uplifting fun tune. I only recently discovered that he plays guitar. I need to explore more of his compositions.
One of my favorite movies of his is "The Cowboy Way"
It can certainly be said that he gives his all. Intense in the 24 series.

Not only was the man a super-secret-agent and the President of the USA, he is also a rocker. Who knew? Yep, I am a fan.

Isn't Kiefer Canadian like his Dad Donald? (one of my fave actors).

Bradley Cooper and Keifer Sutherland are my two favorite "actor" guitar players. It's nice to see that they put as much into their music as they do their acting...

Kiefer was born in London of Canadian parents, and raised in USA and later, Canada, after parents divorced.

He has been telling a fun story about that before he does 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door' in live shows.

I've seen him live twice now and would be doing so again this year if I had not bought a ticket to see PP Arnold in Cardiff the same night. He puts on a very good show and his band are great too. Current tour was better too as he has been playing more guitar.

As for busking, he did it for real last year in Hamburg, Germany: it gets discussed here at 0.49. There was a short snippet on facebook too, but I couldn't find it.

Thanks for posting the video, Andy, I enjoyed it. I also have to admit that - musically - I found it to be much better than I expected.

That said, speaking as someone who got his start as a performer by busking in the Westport district back home in Kansas City, the opening shots of Sutherland and his bandmates striding along a city sidewalk carrying their instruments in one hand and their instrument cases in the other made me laugh out loud. NOBODY who busks ever does that! Not if they have a case for their instruments, anyway. The case’s main job is to protect the instrument carried in it, and there are few places more hazardous to a fragile acoustic guitar than an urban sidewalk in an area with a high volume of foot traffic.

Which, of course, is exactly where you have to set up if you want to make a dime singing on the sidewalk.

Naturally, I understand the narrative reasons for the way the video was shot: it was meant to convey a supposed cinema verité slice of life, and showing the three of them opening their cases, taking their instruments out, attaching the straps and getting in tune, all the normal fumbling around that’s an inevitable prelude to making music in real life would have slowed down the narrative drive of the story they were trying to tell.

So I get that. But it’s silly nonetheless, and made me laugh out.

Thanks again.
