Default NGD: Selah from Duncan Africa

This beautiful guitar arrived half an hour ago. I love it! It sounds terrific and plays very easily. The intonation is great. I think it looks beautiful, too. I had been planning to order one, and I was going to get a sunburst, but this opportunity came up as I was noodling around their Facebook page. So I jumped on it (and got it within a few weeks, as opposed to waiting months on a custom order). I’ll get a sunburst somewhere else someday. This acquisition is another step towards my having an instrument from every continent. I don’t currently have an Asian one, but I will. They’re not too hard to come by. For South America, I want a Max Rosa guitar, but I can wait. This Selah will keep me busy for quite a while!

Tom

Congratulations on your new guitar. On one of my trips to Vancouver in 2016, Fred “J-185-4Me” took me by the Duncan Africa workshop, where I played a couple of their guitars and talked to the staff members who were there that day. Jay Duncan was not, so I didn’t meet him, but it was an enlightening visit nonetheless.

Have fun!

Enjoy it! Seems like a great excuse to learn some African guitar pieces:
