Default Can't believe they are bringing back Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

Many (most?) of these homeowners/winners have had to give up their homes due to a variety of reasons that I suspected would happen when I watched the show:

Taxes
Increased heating/cooling bills
Bigger house = more maintenance
A bigger home does not solve personal problems
etc.

With such a high failure rate of these people who were "gifted" these homes, I'm surprised they are doing it again in 2020. I guess it's all about the ratings, not the reality of it all. To me, it's like taking someone who can't keep their beat up Toyota on the road and giving them a McLaren.

Sorry to be a fuddy-duddy. I just think it's a bad idea.

Kinda the same thing...

Though "The Bachelor" has been airing for 23 seasons now since 2002, only two couples from the show are still together.

I'm not sure why this would surprise anyone. With the desert that is today's TV anything that ever had decent ratings will likely return. This one's simple because although the whole thing is a "set-up" from the beginning (I happen to know what goes on behind the scenes on these home improvement shows) it's only about getting eyeballs to the screens and has nothing to do with the people they re "helping" PLUS no need to pay writers so a huge cost saving to the network(s).

I can't believe they haven't done a "reboot" of My Mother the Car.

I have read articles from reliable sources that say most reality shows are fake, they are staged.

One of the biggest fakes is Pawn Stars.
And I actually like that show.

sounds like the result I would expect on My Lottery Dream House. Im guessing most or nearly all haven't got a clue how to manage the financial end of things.

See my post #3 above. And yes, I'm a "reliable source" (of that info anyway).

OK, so I even Googled it.
I say no way they demolish, clean up and build in 4 days.
No way.
Concrete foundation.
House, roof, windows, siding...
Walls, drywall, electric, plumbing, finish...
Even decorate?
No way.
Ever.
Google says, yes.
Thoughts?

I thought I was the only one that remembered that show.

Prefabs and accelerated concrete when slabs are called for.

I wonder in how many of those homes though if you turn on the kitchen light, the upstairs toilet flushes,

Oh, most definitely. Many of the HGTV-based shows are very fake, and sometimes they may lead to lawsuits due to shoddy work. What a nightmare.
