Well.... I coaxed my wife and youngest daughter into riding the 3 hours to see the Goodall TRD. The gentleman had a Martin HD28V and a D28 12 fret as well as a custom ordered Gibson AJ and a couple of other small builder guitars sitting at the ready when I arrived. After passing them back and forth with each of us playing them so I could hear from both sides, I will just say that I was pleasantly surprised at the Goodall. It really stood out in clarity, volume, and the overall sound that it produces. So, I brought it home!!!

Excellent news! They are special guitars.

Nice decision.

I once had an Adi / Coco TRD. It had less overtones than the other Goodall's that I have owned. Super BOLD, clear and balanced. For me this design needs a bit of finger, hand and wrist strength to get in their gear. I believe the braces are less scalloped than the non pickguard Goodall's.

If I wasn't 64 I would of rocked that Goodall dread. But my finger strength for getting certain dreads in gear, is waning.

Welcome to the Goodall club. I still have two that I can play easily. BTW: I bet your guitar will handle lowered tunings incredibly!

Goodall's can also help your approach to new types, or genres, of acoustic playing.

I love my Goodall. Had it for 8 years. The neck works very well for me.

No guitar is right for everybody...but I bet you will enjoy the Goodall.

Congrats! Road trips are good, especially with the family. Hard to beat first hand experience with a different kind of guitar.

Congrats!! This is really the best way. And it was nice that he had a bunch of other guitars to play so you could put the Goodall tone in context.

Play it in good health.

Congratulations! Glad you made the trip, and that it worked out so well for you...

Of course, PICTURES would actually prove that you now own a Goodall...

May you play it for many hours, in both good health and circumstance!

Sounds like a great trip, with an excellent result. Especially good that you could A/B the Goodall with the Martins and make an informed decision.

Goodalls are wonderful guitars and I hope you enjoy yours for a long time.

it may just be the last guitar you ever buy .
