I had an 810 that I bought in 1989, but I sold it a few years back, when I started focusing more on fingerpicking, and started exploring guitars that were not dreadnaughts.

Well yes! I feel unique in the sense that I recognized Taylor Guitars as a quality crafted guitar back in the days they were relatively unknown and still struggling to establish themselves. My decision to purchase had nothing to do with brand popularity. At that time, $1500 to 2k was a lot to pay, and I was only 21 at the time. Luckily, I was able to purchase it for much less!

I have a 1999 612ce that I bought from an AGF member. Sounds incredible. My 2003 K22 is close behind.

I had a 1995 815ce jumbo. Loved the idea of it; but it was just too jangly for my taste. Nice guitar though, and it had aged very gracefully. It looked and smelled great.

I am the original owner of a 1991 Taylor 515 Ltd. It has a jumbo body with a venetian cutaway, gorgeous silked spruce top, with beautiful mahogany back and sides. Many years ago Taylor confirmed that this guitar was essentially a predecessor of the LKSM-6. The only differences are that mine has abalone fretboard dots and the standard Taylor pickguard. It is loud, warm and articulate, and sounds great flat or finger picked.

I have a sinker redwood / east indian rosewood guitar that I custom ordered (BTO) about 8 years ago. I still have a long way to go before it hits 29 years old though.
How did you get your Taylor? Did Taylor offer a production sinker redwood model or did you custom order? |

Just last Sunday I purchased a 1998 914c.
I'm a very happy camper.

You must have forgot that when you started this thread over 8 1/2 years ago the guitar only had to be 20 years old. Not as long to go as you thought.

Wow, just realized in 2 years my 414 will be 20 years old. Time flies. Love my GA workhorse. Of course, I can't post it here for 2 more years though.

I bought a 810 back in 1987. Great sounding guitar till 2005 when it was damaged beyond repair.
