Default Silliest Messages Related to Online Listings...

Many of us have listed guitars and other items for a sale on various websites. We've heard from the Nigerian princes who want to make us millionaires and we've heard from those want something for nothing. We've also heard from the scammers who are collecting our information. I got the following message as a result of an Ebay listing I recently closed due to a local sale:

Hi. Have you sold this item or are you relisting it? I didn't realize the listing was ending. Thanks.

That's like saying I didn't realize my head was in my butt.

Thanks for sharing

I fought the urge to respond that I didn't realize that I was supposed to contact that individual before making a sale....

Well maybe I'm just silly too, but to me it just sounds like he was just making sure you didn't take it down temporarily (maybe to make corrections or for any number of reasons). Seems like a fair question that falls in the category of "it doesn't hurt to ask."

What irritates me is when people don't read the ad and ask you questions that are clearly answered in it.

No, When you are selling a guitar and some random person says is the “item” still for sale? you know it’s a scam.

This! Unless of course the ad title was, "Item for sale".

Ok, but that wasn't what RP was focusing on (see his underlining and commentary in post #3 . . . seems like he was interpreting the question to mean the guy thought he was supposed to be catered to or something, and I was simply saying I don't see that).

I agree, but it was the underlined part that I thought was silly....
