Well, yeah ... it's something Taylor doesn't make ... a Brazilian Rosewood/Adirondack Spruce Parlour

Well, I do love my Taylors ... and maybe I'll get kicked off the Forum for saying this ... but I love my Goodalls (and other guitars) too. This Parlour is going to have Ebony binding and a single dove at the 9th fret. I ordered it two months ago, so it should finished in February or March.

Nothing wrong with liking another brand of guitar, I like taylors but I like others also. There are some things taylor just doesnt build. Im sure Bob Taylor has a differant brand stuck under the bed somewhere and sneaks in to play it when nobodys looking. hehe!

Yeah, I know that Bob plays a Collings. There was a thread awhile back where he lists his personal guitars.

JW, I ordered a custom 5-str acoustic/electric Bass from Carvin. That was a really cool experience. I built it up exactly the way I wanted it. The finished result was awesome! It sounded and played better than I expected. There is a tiny finish bubble on the back, but aside from that, the workmanship is outstanding. It looks like they even spent some extra time cleaning up the inside of the guitar, as it looks perfect, even though it's an area where people can't see. Overall, I was very happy with the outcome and I'd buy a Carvin again. I hope to use this bass on my recording for the forum CD.

Does anybody know why Bob (as if we're Pals!) does not offer Adirondack or German Spruce?

Default Adirondack Spruce

Here's (part of) your answer, Taylorman, from an earlier post.

Maybe I'll persue it again some day but some experience would have to change my mind about it.

The one I ordered a DC400A with black chrome hardware, deep purple over quilted maple, floyd rose and some other stuff but you get the idea. I ordered one about 6 months ago and liked it so much I went for round 2. Super electric and cheap for a custom shop model. I may try one of their acoustics next. JW

Koa by a nose over EI Rosewood. All bets are closed.

Well I voted for maple, it's tied for fourth place with mahogany, and I'm not gonna explain my choice to anybody!

I still think most people voted based on what they own. Not on the best sounding wood! But I suppose if you love what you have, you wouldn't vote for something else unless you were really dying to own it, RIght?
