What a catalyst! Great to see Crosby back.

Tonight in Boston the Bruins host the Pens. Bruins are missing some key guys due to injury including Bergeron and 3 of their top 6 defensemen. Pens haven't won in Boston since 2014, and will be starting AHLer Tristan Jarry in goal as Matt Murray was placed on IR on Wednesday.

Go Pens!

I hope the game makes it to OT so that both teams get a point. Game is on tv here in 30 minutes.

You might get your wish, Dru. Tied 1-1 after 2 periods.

Wish granted. Bruins/Pens is going to OT. Pens lost Hornqvist to injury at the end of the 2nd.

I watched the first period. Why was Boston's 2nd goal disallowed? It was a No Goal call on the ice but the reply clearly showed it was in and there was no whistle. The NESN announcers didn't know why. What did the Pittsburgh broadcast say?

I only hope Hornqvist won't be out for an extended period of time. Whatever chance the Pens have of getting things turned around depends on his being in the lineup.

On a related note: With Hornqvist not available for the 3rd period, Mike Sullivan didn't allow Daniel Sprong to take a single shift in that period. Both Hornqvist and Sprong are right wingers, yet Sullivan chose to play 2 forwards short for the rest of the game, risking fatigue (the game went to OT, and the Pens play another game tonight) rather than allow Sprong to play. Seems rather a self-defeating strategy.

Congrats to the Bruins for playing a good game with a depleted lineup!

Capitals won again last night. Four in a row. They are slowly crawling up the standings. Predators lost but still at the top with 33 points.

None of the replay angles shown on the Pittsburgh broadcast clearly showed the puck crossing the goal line. It seemed likely that it was a goal based on the actions of the goalie, the Bruins reaction and the movement of the puck, but the Pittsburgh announcers thought that perhaps the whistle had blown, or that without a clear view of the entire puck being over the goal line, officials in Toronto were reluctant to overturn the ruling on the ice.

Wow,

Sabres just won ninth in a row (best streak since 2006) and six comebacks.

Edge of the seat games too. Man they look good.

Buffalo now has the most points in the entire NHL! How amazing is that. Last year they didn't get their 15th win of the year until Feb and they have 16 now. This has got to be the biggest surprise of the season.

The Capitals won again last night (11/26) with their 6th win in a row - putting them just over the top in the Metro Division. The Predators are still atop of theirs. The Predators play tonight. I think they are still tied for the lead in points in the NHL.

Flyers fired their GM Hextall yesterday. Kind of a surprise to me. Seemed like the Flyers were building a very good core with some savvy drafting under Hextall. If I were HC Dave Hakstol I'd be a bit anxious right now; whoever the new GM is will likely want his own man in that spot, sooner rather than later.
