Due to the size difference between the X30 and X10, I think that piece is certainly more suited for the size of the X10. When it comes to royal ebony, Alistair could put on a blindfold and just start chopping at random and the result would still be amazing!

Cecil;
Good question; I don't know. What I shot for in the 7 electric was 2". I had hoped for the same with the 10 build, but Alistair recommended, and got, more. I'm not sure what I think about the extra width and will report back when the guitar arrives. I suspect that what Alistair is calling a "slim body" is a hybrid size, something between my preferred 2" electric and a full 4-5" acoustic width. Indeed, this is an all-around hybrid instrument: a nylon string with a cut-a-way, with a nut width between the common standards for nylon and steel widths, with electronics, and with a blending of traditional wood and carbon fiber. This could be the ONE guitar I've been searching for. If it's not, the 7 might do the job. I can play the 7 acoustically and be heard. I can play the 7 plugged in and be heard in the next county. I had hoped the 10 would give me a bit more bout and I'm also getting a bit more width. Should be a killer guitar. Fun exploration. |

Hey, only 13 days 'till "next year." About the same amount of time that somebody whose name I won't mention takes to reveal the many new guitars he gets. Weekly. Do you have your own shipping and receiving department??

Fixedgear;
Thank you. I don't do Facebook but a friend who does gave me a look and Kevin sent me some pictures which I asked to have attached to this thread. I have high hopes for this guitar and it will make for a great Christmas and new year. |

Woo, that is amazing.
Just curious, what is the exact spec? (Body size, scale length ...) |

CQ;
The build is based on the 10, with a thinner body. The scale is the standard 25 & something. I wanted a short scale and a 2" body, but Alistair said "no." The nut-width is 1-7/8". The pickup is something new to me--it catches each individual string. In many ways the guitar is going to be new to me and I'll be reporting back when I get chance to do some fondling and fingering. |

That’s pretty slick, Evan. Congrats! Real nice bookmatched grain pattern. We’ll be curious to know how you feel this one fits into those Emerald nylons you already have/had, and crossovers in general.

Tom;
Yes the bookmatching is exquisite. I don't play to that level--but I have a healthy respect for it. |
