Thanks Nemoman....I did help a little with the rosette design, but I am out of it now...Steve and Ryan are in control and I feel great about that. Steve picked out that killer headstock overlay and has great plans for the bindings, purfling, and a little fancy surprise on the end of the fret board as well.

I am really having fun now seeing this all come together, the stress I was feeling is gone....a little inside info that I know is that the sides have been successfully bent with no mishaps!!!!

The sound hole still needs to be cut out more and that will help the look as well.

Thanks all, and thanks to Ryan for doing such tight, precise work on this tricky design. Tom, I think you'll like this.

Well thanks for the love guys. The main thing is that Tom likes it. We've had a lot of back and forth making sure this came out right. After exploring several options, Tom came up with the inlay design. We felt like incorporating a personal design would give Tom more connection to the instrument and make it special. (Most custom builds are special, but you know what I mean.) I think the thought that he's put into it will pay off as the rest of the design elements come together.

Keep watching.

Default Top cut out

Here is the rosette installed in the top, the sound hole cut out completely, and the top rough cut for the SJ body size. Nice to see it in in proper prospective...The sides are bent and bracing is next....

Thanks for watching.

The rosette looks like a Celestial Event of some kind. Like something you'd see with a super-telescope, of a far-away nebula... Gorgeous piece of work!
Tom, you know how to pick 'em!
By the way, the medullary rays (silk) in that Italian spruce top are outstanding!
