X20 Fingerstyle Sample
As I haven't found a lot of X20 fingerstyle samples, here's a recording I did today for those interested:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HsIDqKyo18 I'm using Elixir Phosphor Bronze light (.012-.053) and record using the external mic as well as the built-in L.R.Baggs Anthem pickup. Played without nails, just flesh. I rarely record and am not an expert, so there's probably room for improvement! Last edited by tryout; 01-02-2022 at 02:53 PM. |

Not sure if its my browser, but when I click on the video it gives me an error...
Oh wait, I didn't see the link above the video. That works. Thanks for posting. I'm anxiously awaiting an X20 myself, so its nice to hear some finger style videos. Last edited by KevinH; 01-02-2022 at 02:26 PM. |

The hyperlink works fine but the embedded video needs attention by just posting the video's alpha-numeric name in the AGF Soundcloud app, thusly: 9HsIDqKyo18

Very nicely done - what a pretty tune!
The recording sounds a little bright to me - you might want to play with mic placement to see if you can tame that, and bring out a bit more of the warmth I know the X20 is capable of.

Thanks Tryout, love it! the song, the way you played, the beautiful blue x20!
Recording an acoustic guitar I always prefer use only condenser mics. I would use the pickup in a performance on stage, playing live. the pickup makes all the mid-low frequencies and harmonics thin, smoothes the sound allowing it to be mixed better with other instruments but leaving it thin when it comes to reproducing the single acoustic instrument. but that's just my humble opinion.
