I applied two coat of 2 pound cut blonde shellac on back and front by brush.

On spruce , finish is ok, but on Rosewood i am not happy with look. Squeezed glue is shining and spots are visible.

Learning :
1. Always glue back first.
2. Removed squeezed glue or glue should not squeezed.

The majority of steel string guitars are not finished on the inside. It's probably ok but some people don't like the sound. Wood with glue on it absorbs finish differently than bare wood making it look shiny. Make sure any glue on the outside of the guitar is cleaned , sanded off. Excess glue is best cleaned off with a damp cloth before it dries,

Shellac will clean off with alcohol if you want to remove it. I use methyl hydrate also sold as gas line anti freeze here for removing shellac, it is cheap. Denatured alcohol works too.

Today I closed the box. Did all, what ever i can do . Don't know how it's sound , but i did my best.

Summer started and in the first week of March, temp shoots suddenly above 30 degree and humidity will go down quickly, so i have to close the box and secure it in cool place outside of my workshop.

But the back should always be glue first, it's more typical as compare to top due to more curve.

Thanks brother for your advice. I realise what you are saying, i should not create a reflecting surface.

I sanded top and back with 220 and 320 and removed all shellac shining surface. Rubbed all surface with alcohol , it's give me a matt finish and no spot.

Not tried to remove glue shining spot, no risk, just sanded at my best.

Here is the progress.
Peghead tuning machine holes done. These are step holes , you may see in pics.

Fretboard inlays done and perfect for me. Left two undone for fret board gluing on neck , so the nail may be placed to avoid slipping.

I was building this Radius block cum Binding zig for my build.

This is 20 inches high, used 16 inch drawer sliding channel, and back side will be used for Radius block.

Back side braces are adjustable and can be fixed at any point as per radius block.

This is pretty ugly, but will do the job, 😃

Yes , definitely. Channel in side don't allow any movement and keep router in vertical position.

SM binding bit cost is $77 with out bearing and it will cost me apx $ 125 after import.

Surprisingly , i could not found any rebbeting bit in India or my location, so i ordered this locally available Bosch router bit set only cost me $ 60 .

The rebbetting bit is 32 mm in dia , so what size of bearing should be use for herringbone purfling and white binding supplied in kit.

Pl refer below pics.

I buy a set like this. The bearing from the 3/8" bit goes on the 1/2" bit gives you a 1/16" cut. The 5/16" bearing goes on the 3/8" bit gives you 1/32" cut. Leave the 1/4" bit as is for flush cutting.

I checked the squareness of binding zig and not satisfied , so changed the design and hope , that Fathand don't claim copyright on me😁.

I have checked the squareness in reference to flat surface and it's ok, but don't know , how the router bit to be checked for squareness in reference of mounting surface, i have no idea.

Last 15 days was gone in making of this Zig and arranging things for binding a critical part. Summer started here and i have to complete the build with in 10 days , let's see.

Here are the pics of new Zig, pl review.

It looks like it should work, test it on scrap wood before the guitar. Fit the binding and purfling to the scrap wood first. It should be a little too big for the rabbet , like .002 - .005" then scrape or sand to foit.

I used to put the router directly on the guitar, it was ok. Make sure the router goes around the guitar clockwise so it doesn't tear the wood.

You are going to put a donut /biscuit on the bottom of that jig? The white disc that rides on the guitar top. I made mine from hardwood.
