who's to say, after you go thru this expense that something else doesn't happen?

I say this from experience. I had my taylor Grand Symphony sent back for a top repair when an sm58 hit it one night. It was nasty but they did a great job with the cosmetic and structural repair

with shipping there and back + the repair was about $370 round trip.
I felt it was worth it, so I was happy as a clam.


a few weeks after I got it back, a 1/4 cable tip "tapped" the top under the sound hole it's a cedar top and very soft wood. Yep it left a nice little "ding". (ARG!)

nothing can be done with this kind of stuff, it just happens

I would leave it. If it’s stable and the finish is smooth, you’re good to go, but for the cosmetics.
