time to say so long? acoustic amp and preamp...
Hi guys,
4 years ago I bought a Fender Acoustic SFX amp and a L.R. Baggs Para DI with the intent of playing out a bit, like coffee houses etc. But after a few open mics I remembered why I'm done with performing for a crowd. So the amp and preamp have less than 3 hours of play time on them. I have plugged the amp in regularly to keep the caps formed but mostly they have been stored out of harm's way in the closet. It's kind of sad to see them sitting there unused. So I've been thinking about selling them when COVID calms down and we reach normality again. I know my wife will tell me to just keep them so there's that. They aren't hurting anything sitting there but I have run out of room in the closet due to GAS! What would you do? I would quit playing open mics and try to book some shows and use the gear! Honestly, I have learned enough to know what types of shows to avoid. I think open mics can be fun but in many cases the crowd is not involved as much as they might be for a musician or band that is playing all night.

It's getting hard to sell even before the Covid hit. The money was getting tighter towards the end of 2019. So you should hand onto what you have now. I'm an Ebay power seller and I can tell.

Thanks for the responses guys. I talked to my loving wife and I was able to negotiate some more space in the closet. I did some guitar gear tetris after dinner so it all fits. The amp and preamp stay for now.

Im thinking gigs at nursing homes may be a thing of the past. too much at stake
for the clients and a liability for the company. Hope im wrong. But not unlike prisons things can spread quite quickly. |
