Smile Hummingbirds

Hi Everyone,

I currently play a Gibson Hummingbird 2007, (unknown) Hummingbird copy and it sounds fantastic but most excitingly I am having a custom built Hummingbird being made to the 60s spec with lots of added extras including mother of pearl / abalone design of hummingbirds flying in and out of flowers all the way along the neck, it's gonna take ages.

Would you be interested in seeing the progress here?

I have attached a video of us playing our Hummingbirds. I hope you like it and have time to leave a nice comment and like.

This probably belongs in the custom build section. That is where you can follow all build progress.

The cover song sounds great. Really nice strumming tone coming from your Hummingbirds!

Are you going with the 60's adjustable bridge?

Not the adjustable bridge. It's will be maple back and sides with a sitka spruce top. It will be a kinda mix of all the Gibson acoustics.

Congrats! Maple Hummingbirds are fantastic guitars - the wood and scale work so well together

Not a Hummingbird but I wasn't a big maple fan until I got my John Walker Wise River (J-45 kinda like) slope dread with Adirondack top and Maple back and sides. Incredible voicing. Glad I got turned onto a good maple guitar...

Great video - there's nothing like a Bird!

After 24 hours and seeing the direction this thread is taking, moved to S&T.
