Default Santana Concert - WOW!

Let me first say that I've been a big fan since '69 but hadn't seen them performance since Woodstock. But let's face it, who has any accurate recollections from Woodstock? They performed in Richmond last night, and let me first say that Carlos hasn't lost a step; but his wife, Cindy Blackman Santana is a Phenomenal with a capital "P" drummer. She tore up the opening number, Soul Sacrifice, (my all-time favorite tune) but two hours into the show she did a solo that was simply incredible. If you have a chance to go see them, do it....

RP, Santana would be a great concert. He put PRS guitars on the map back in '81. Did he play an assortment of guitars?

I only spot checked the video but she can play - and she has an intense look on her face too.

Outstanding... she's terrific! I enjoyed that. I liked Michael Shrieve too. Carlos knows a good drummer when he sees one. Thanks for posting.

Saw him last night and only saw 2 guitars. Mostly played a PRS singlecut.

I like Santana’s songwriting, his melodies, his groove, the percussions and that Spanish fusion. I enjoy listening to his music.

What I don’t get is his technical skill. To my ears, his live performances sound sloppy, timing a little off and bends sometimes flat. His back up guitar player plays cleaner and just sounds better overall. Still, Santana will always sound and play better than I ever will and I can only dream to be sloppy like him.
