Default Octave uke on a big baritone or tenor guitar?

I know guitaleles are roughly baritone size and can reasonably produce the low A note (A2) and tenor guitars are frequently tuned GDAE with the low G (G2) and sound good there as well. It stands to reason that a big baritone or tenor guitar would sound good tuned octave ukulele (G2 - A3), right? Has anybody tried this? I'm thinking I'd use the middle 4 strings of a guitar.

To get ukulele GCEA on a 21-23" scale four string tenor guitar you can use Daddario J66 set (CGDA) + single PL020.

• set aside the 4th (C) string
• move the G to the 4th position
• install the PL020 in the 3rd (G) position
• raise the 2nd D string to E

Cheers.

Aquila and PHD both make GCEA sets for baritone. I don’t think tuning the C up a step would be too much
